Time to get busy once again getting CMC17 ready for the upcoming racing in August. First, I have to get the donor car back together. My 88GT is in pieces and now taking up space like a lump in my garage.
Once that is completed, I will be able to get CMC17 back in there to finalize the race setup.
The list of to-do's:
Racing seat
Sub-frame connectors
Tachometer (from 88GT)
Master cylinder (replacement due to brake upgrade)
Brake booster (might as well)
Brake pads (Hawk racing pads)
Camera mount
Time to crack the whip (on myself) and get these things knocked out ASAP. Stay tuned.. I will be starting a chronicle of rules specifications for the CMC class and why we chose the parts we did.

Almost have the donor car (88GT) back on the road. After getting sprayed with fuel twice (don't ask) and installing the stock fuel rails, brakes, A-arms, struts, shocks, calipers, stock fuel lines, stock gas tank, smaller radiator, it fired up for the first time in 3+ weeks. woohoo! Time to get it out of the garage and concentrate efforts on CMC17.

Dyno Time for CMC 17 <gulp> The moment of truth has arrived. Will it be a tired dog or a frisky pup? Due tell.
I follow Mike (Admiral - AI#16) to the dyno in Houston, TX.
CMC#17 surprised me. I was impressed that it put down the numbers it did with a bone stock 302. This is with no tuning done on it at all. I'm sure with some tuning I could eek out 5 more horsepower and still be under the maximum of 230. As it stands right now, I'm a happy camper!
Mike's car made some very impressive power too! Nothing like a weekend of bolting on parts to gain another 100hp. Ok, it wasn't quite that easy, just ask Mike. =)

Yeah, I know.. 20 days of no updates. Sorry.
It's been a busy time. The 88GT is finally back on the road and out of the frikkin' garage. Moved CMC17 in and started working on the brake issue. I replaced the master cylinder (95GT type) and the brake booster (89 Mustang). I will say this, the stock booster was totally shot! No wonder I didn't have any brakes at the StangBang event. After installing the aforementioned parts, plus the speed bleeders.. I now have awesome brakes!! Woohoo!! Even though I haven't seated the Hawk Blue's, I can tell the brakes are 100% better! Next...
I got around to installing the rear axle moan brackets. This axle assembly came out of my 88GT and it has a severe moan on certain corners or curves. Horrible sound I might add! Next....
On to the seat installation. <pictures to follow tomorrow> I had to fabricate my own seat bracket that I still need to tack weld before signing off on it. Hey.. it's my butt in that seat! =) Next...
Sub-frame connectors. Yes, I should have had these on before now, but the local deal around town fell through. I have one side done and should have the other side finished this evening (welder tip was FUBAR'd). The Subs are Kenny Brown ones with seat braces. Not what I wanted, but the only ones I could find on short notice. Better than nothing. Next...
Window net. I have all of the pieces and parts to finish this installation either tonight or tomorrow. <pics to follow> Next...
Shifter boot. Yeah, that's right a shifter boot. I don't have a big gaping hole around my shifter now exposing the cockpit to the hot air flying through the tunnel. Looks good if I don't mind saying so.. and I don't.
More to follow....
28 July 2003
As promised - here are some more pictures that include the seat, brakes (MC and booster) and the 95% done window net.

Side note: The sub-frame connectors are installed and welded 100%.
30 July 2003
CMC#17 build is now 99.5% completed.
